Social Security
I recieved a letter from the Social Security Administration the other day.
It said I'm more than half way to having paid in enough to retire. I turn 25 in three months.
Then then the letter said I can't start collecting until I'm 67 and that without changes by congress there wouldn't be any (or as much) money for me when I became eligible to collect.
Here I was thinking that I could retire at 30, use Social Security to pay for rent & food, and do a startup without worrying about a job.
This is, of course, yet another way the older generation takes unsustainable advantage of the following generations.
This is discounting the availability of Social Security in case of disability. I'm not sure what I think of that yet but I do think it should be moved into whatever National Health scheme we end up with.
