Chem Lab

Chem lab was okay. We were supposed to turn in two assignments and I lost the last page of one. We were supposed to use the vent hoods because we were working with noxious materials. My lab partner decided not to use the hood. The entire lab soon stank. My head hurts and my hands stink.

A little balance, please

I'm looking through yahoo news photo archives from Iraq. They are showing more photos of Spanish soldiers playing with Iraqi children now that Spain has announced the withdrawal of their troops. They show several photos of people injured by U.S. forces, but only one of someone injured by fighters. This imbalance is followed throughout their photo archive.

In other news. al-Sadar's "army" has been burning Humvees. Stop negotiating and kill the little warlord-cleric. A transfer of government while there are armed factions running around would be foolish. Kofi simply does not want there to be a case of successful nation building where the U.N. was indecisive.

Post HIST103

Another week, another session of History: Worldviews. I found a remote for the classroom LCD projector. This made the instructor happy. We had a quiz today. I moved to the back of the room after the quiz period. I sat on the floor in the corner. The instructor was right at eye level. This was nice as I did not have to crane my neck to watch him.

I'm going to repartition my hard drive and install the latest OpenBSD snapshot. The install will tie up my computer for a while. I will do my chem lab homework while my computer is busy.

I get to record a grad nursing class tomorrow night. I'm sure that it will be interesting. They have been covering human development and reproduction. I think they keep me around just to see how many shades of blush I can turn.

Bah

Missed both of my morning classes today. I did not set up redundant alarm clocks. Normally I have two alarm clocks in case one fails. Guess what? The one alarm clock did not work this morning.

I will attend the afternoon version of my morning class. The professor is cool about things like that. He lets us switch class sections without skipping a beat. He knows who we are no matter if it is in the morning or afternoon.

The other morning class is going to be a bit of a problem. I really needed to be there today because we were working on something new. Oops. I will talk to a few classmates in an attempts to figure out what was covered today.

Spring Cleaning

I spent the past few hours cleaning my room. All papers are now neatly filed away. Books are neatly placed on the bookshelf and in milk crates. I need a bigger bookshelf. My current bookshelf unit has two shelves plus the top. I have 4-5 shelves worth of books. David is going to send me to photos of things for me to put on eBay. Somehow I forgot to eat during the past few days. Now I'm talking to my brother about banks and how money works. Hopefully I will have enough time to take a shower and go eat. I'm thinking about getting a bag of Chex Mix and some cheese curds.

Why do christians celebrate a holiday named after a pagan goddess?

You know it's Friday when

Several odd things have happened today.
I could attribute the odd occurrences to people forgetting that April 1st was yesterday. I could attribute it to being a really sunny day after a cold winter. Perhaps excitement over the President's impending visit was responsible. All of these reasons are slightly plausible. I think that a much simpler event is the cause. It's Friday!

Ways you know it's a CUW Friday:
  • People wander the halls carrying large wood crosses.
  • The university president sends out confirmation that the announcement stating that president Bush is coming to commencement was not, in fact, an April 1st hoax.
  • A number of students walk arm-in-arm down the hall after lunch singing Evanescence songs.
  • Your coworker considers wearing a sword to work.
  • The cafe is playing rave mixes, and people are bouncing along.
  • Your Logic professor shows how to turn a not something-something intosomething-not something.
  • The student newspaper has informative and relevant articles.
  • There is a trail of paper feet throughout the campus.
