Personality quirks and jabber problems
Last night I was playing around with my two
jabber accounts while trying to time the delay between messages from one server to another. The timing tests were progressing without any problems when I decided to customize the message a bit by adding some wit. After a half hour I had a decent conversation going between jda@jabber.com and jda@jabber.org, both my accounts and both active in gaim. So there I was typing in one window and replying to myself in another window when I thought “
hey, this is kinda fun. I really should do this more often.” Shortly after that I stopped before things got any weirder. Oh, and the jabber problem? there is five to twenty second delay between when a message is sent on one server to when it is received on another. To make matters worse, messages often arrived badly out of order. I hope they can do something about their lag problem, perhaps some sort of persistent link between main servers.
