My birthday night out
Tonight, to celebrate my 18
th birthday, Mom and Dad took me out to Avanti’s for dinner and then to see
Peoria Ballet's presentation of the firebird. We stopped at a Bob Evens on the way home and I had a slice of snickers pie.
The Firebird was quite good as well as the modern ballet pieces before the Firebird. I just wonder about the focus on abstraction from reality, the emphasis on feeling and the absence of plot or story in modern art; is it a good thing?
.NET is Java done right!
I just got
mono working on
OpenBSD. I ran the test programs included with mono on OpenBSD and then copied them to a Windows XP computer and ran them with .NET and most of them worked. This is the first Microsoft thing I have gotten excited about since I mostly moved to OpenBSD. This is great, I can write programs on Unix and have them run with no changes on Windows and vice versa.
