Yay for old hardware and mod_perl
I just set apache so that is uses mod_perl in the Movable Type directory. Enabling mod_perl make a huge difference in speed, logging in to MT now takes three seconds down from the ten seconds that it took without mod_perl.
The combination of
Sun hardware and open source software continues to impress me. This
SPARCstation LX with
NetBSD has thus far been able to run anything I throw at it. It is currently running Apache, mod_perl, PHP, and PostgreSQL with occasional interactive use via SSH. While not the fastest or newest computer I have it is by far the most stable with an uptime of: "
3:32AM up 173 days, 12:01, 1 user, load averages: 0.13, 0.19, 0.23". Not bad for a
10 year old computer.
