4-H, Fire, and Fun
This evening David, Johanna, and I went to the 4-H federation meeting / volunteer pledge card burning.
There was no federation meeting, we met but did not take care of any business. The bit about pledge card burning is due to some scheme of our governor's wife who wants Illinois to be the state with the most volunteer hours. If you volunteered for all the hours that you pledged you get to burn your pledge card. We also played some games. Unlike many of the games we play at 4-H meetings these were halfway decent. We went on a scavenger hunt and attempted to solve a human knot. To wrap things up we went on a hay wagon ride through a corn field and along a creek. Supposedly there were coyotes around. Then, to top it all off we got home we discovered that Mom had all the house keys so Dad had been sitting in the van with the rest of the family for two hours.
